SWAT operators

On 03/27/23, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to reports of a domestic incident. An adult female reported a male subject made multiple threats against her several times that morning. After several attempts to locate the male subject, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office identified the subject in a vehicle and attempted to stop him. The male fled law enforcement, driving the wrong way on the roadway, and law enforcement eventually lost contact with the male. Two patrol vehicles sustained heavy damage caused by the suspect during the pursuit. Later in the day, the Grand Junction Police Department was able to locate the male in the 1900 block of David Street at the Linden Pointe Apartments. Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams attempted to contact the male at approximately 2:45pm. The male, later identified as Domenique Digregorio (DOB 10/21/1995), refused to cooperate and barricaded himself in the apartment. Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams ultimately took Digregorio into custody after several hours. Digregorio was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following preliminary charges; more charges pending:

• Menacing
• Vehicular Eluding
• Stalking
• Criminal Mischief
• Obstructing a Police Officer
• Resisting Arrest
• Harassment
• Reckless Endangerment
• Reckless Driving
• Speeding
• Driving the Wrong Direction on a Roadway
• Failed to Stop for a Red Light
• Domestic Violence

A shelter-in-place was issued for the residents of the apartment complex until Digregorio was taken into custody. The Grand Junction Fire Department and Grand Junction Regional Communications Center Incident Dispatch Team were on scene to assist. The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
