Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department have made an arrest in a serious crash that occurred on April 19, 2025.
At approximately 10:05 a.m. on April 19, 2025, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and personnel from the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 24 ½ Road and HWY 6 & 50. One individual sustained minor injuries, while the drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Following a thorough investigation, officers determined that the driver of a Toyota Tacoma, while under the influence and traveling at a high rate of speed, ran a red light and collided with a Nissan Rogue. An arrest warrant was issued for the driver of the Toyota Tacoma, identified as 23-year-old Eric Carr.
On May 27, 2025, following his release from the hospital, Carr was taken into custody by officers with the Grand Junction Police Department and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Vehicular Assault – DUI
- Vehicular Assault – Reckless Driving
- Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
- Driving While Revoked (DUI/Reckless)
The driver of the Nissan Rogue remains hospitalized at this time.
