The Grand Junction Police Department is searching for a known suspect who was involved in the kidnapping of an adult female on December 5th.
Shortly before 11:30 this morning, information was relayed to the Grand Junction Police Department by another law enforcement agency that there was a vehicle in the area of 24 ¾ Rd and Highway 6 and 50, matching a description of a vehicle that is wanted by law enforcement. The registered owner of the vehicle, Jacob Pierce, is wanted on several warrants, including:
Officers responded to the area in which the vehicle was spotted and upon arrival, Jacob Pierce fled the scene. A short vehicle pursuit ensued, in which officers were unable to make successful contact with Pierce. Ultimately, Pierce crashed his vehicle into a power box in the area between Patterson Road and Orchard Avenue, on 1st Street and fled the scene on foot.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter in the area and began searching for Pierce. They interviewed witnesses and residents in the area and searched nearby properties of private residences with permission from the homeowner.
We understand that incidents like this are concerning to our community. The investigation remains ongoing and the Grand Junction Police Department is asking that anyone who sees or hears anything suspicious, to please call 911 immediately. Pierce was last seen wearing dark colored clothes and a ball cap, and should be considered dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him.
