Grand Junction Police Department officers responded to a felony menacing incident on 12/7/2023 shortly before 10:30 a.m. While investigating the incident, officers attempted to contact the suspect at a residence in the 1500 block of Main Street. When officers arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence. Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams arrived to assist, taking the suspect into custody at approximately 3:45 p.m. Devon Mlinek (38) was remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility for Felony Menacing, Harassment, and three other outstanding warrants.
A shelter-in-place was issued for the surrounding area and has now been lifted. The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident. No further information is available at this time.
