At 11:13 PM last night Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a fire inside a commercial building on the 500 block of 25 Road. The caller, from a security company checking on the building, reported seeing smoke and flames and that the exterior walls of the building were hot. The first crew on scene entered the structure to investigate. Crews located the fire and pulled down sections of the ceiling to ensure the fire had not spread. GJFD crews were able to put out the fire, check for extension into the walls, and worked to clear smoke from and the building. There are no known injuries. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
GJFD responded with Truck 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Truck 6, Ambulance 1, Ambulance 3, Battalion 1, and an Administrative Chief.
