GRAND JUNCTION, CO — At approximately 9:55 a.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to the 29 Mile Apartments, located at 2915 Orchard Avenue, for a reported apartment fire. Multiple callers from the complex reported fire alarms sounding and smoke coming from Building H.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded along with fire resources, and deputies forcibly gained entry into the involved apartment and evacuated an adult female occupant. Fire crews quickly extinguished the active fire and conducted a thorough check to ensure it had not spread to other units within the complex. There are no known injuries at this time. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office also provided traffic control and ensured scene safety throughout the incident. The American Red Cross is responding to assist residents displaced by the fire.
