At 11:40 AM the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a trailer fire at Elm Trailer Park, 661 Highway 50. The caller reported smoke coming from a trailer in the middle of the complex. Neighbors helped put the fire out before crews arrived. GJFD removed smoldering materials from inside the trailer and ensured the fire was out. A small dog was removed from the trailer and received oxygen. There are no other known injuries. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
GJFD responded with Truck 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Truck 6, Ambulance 1, and Battalion 1. Mesa County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with scene safety.
