GRAND JUNCTION, CO — At approximately 6:30 p.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a bathroom fire in an apartment on the 2700 block of Dawn Drive.
The apartment was unoccupied and being cleaned when flames were discovered near the bathroom ventilation fan. The individual on scene attempted to extinguish the fire with water before evacuating and waiting for fire crews to arrive.
Firefighters found no active flames upon arrival and confirmed the fire had not spread beyond the bathroom. There were no injuries.
The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
