This morning at 1:14 a.m. Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle on fire on the 400 block of 28 ¼ Road. As crews were responding, multiple people calling 911 offered more information that a home was very close to the fire. With this new information GJFD ordered additional firefighting resources to respond to the call. When crews arrived on scene they found a 5th wheel RV on fire near a home and a truck. The property owner let crews know there was no one inside the RV at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Crews worked to contain the blaze and protect the nearby property. Ultimately the RV sustained significant damage and the home and the truck had only minor heat damage. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
