At 10:04 p.m. on July 4th, the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a fire on the 500 block of Gunnison Avenue. Neighbors called in to report the blaze. Arriving crews found a recreational vehicle and two sheds in the backyard of the home on fire, producing heavy smoke, with a possibility of spreading to nearby trees and homes. Crews worked to completely extinguish the fire and were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the home or neighborhood. There are no known injuries and no one was displaced from the home. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
