The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a fire on the 300 Block of North Avenue last night at approximately 2:50 a.m. The fire was called in by a passerby who saw black smoke coming from the front of a strip mall. North Avenue was partially shut down for firefighting operations. GJFD Crews were able to contain the fire to one business in the building, but three other adjacent businesses experienced minor damage from the fire. Two firefighters had minor injuries, but there are no other known injuries as a result of this fire. GJFD and GJPD are investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
