At 4:04 AM this morning, the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in a single wide mobile home on the 2900 block of Mesa Avenue. Neighbors reporting the fire indicated they believed the home to be unoccupied. Arriving crews found the home on fire, producing heavy smoke, with a possibility of spreading to nearby trees. Crews worked to completely extinguish the fire and ensure the residence was empty. There are no known injuries. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with traffic control and scene safety.
