Dennis grew up on the front range. He graduated from Westminster High School in 1967 and Fort Lewis College in 1971 with a degree in accounting. He then was hired by a Grand Junction accounting firm. There he met his wife, Mary, who was working at the same firm. As a CPA, he worked in public accounting, the corporate world, and in government throughout the western slope. He has lived in Grand Junction since 1996 and retired in 2019.
Dennis has participated as an interested citizen for many years with a focus on improving the transparency and accountability of local government. He has volunteered at the local food bank.
Mary and Dennis have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. They all live close enough to allow the grandparents to stay involved in their activities. After many years as avid bicyclists, Dennis and Mary have recently become enthralled with pickleball.
