Single Stream Recycling

  • If you currently use two recycling bins in the dual stream program (a blue lid bin and a yellow lid bin), your service will change to the single stream program in spring 2026.

    What this means:

    • Put all recyclable materials into one blue lid bin
    • The yellow lid bin will be removed
    • Recycling will be collected every week on your trash day
    • Your existing 64-gallon blue lid bin will be your recycling bin unless you choose a larger size
    Single Stream Recycling
  • Yes! Starting after your conversion date, glass bottles and jars will be accepted in your blue lid recycling bin. Please do not place glass into your recycling bins until AFTER your area’s conversion dates to single stream recycling.

    Single Stream Recycling
  • After your conversion date, you will use your blue lid recycling bin for all recyclables. Please refer to the single stream recycling guidelines for what materials are accepted in the recycling bin after your conversion date.

    Single Stream Recycling
  • Starting on the conversion date listed on the letter you received, crews will be working through the area to remove your yellow-lid container, as it will no longer be needed for collection. Once back at the facility, the City will repurpose yellow-lid containers as recycling bins or trash bins, as lids can be removed and replaced.

    Single Stream Recycling
  • If you do not request a larger recycling bin, you will keep your existing 64-gallon blue lid bin for recycling, and no further action is needed. Crews will remove your yellow lid bin on your conversion date, and your current 64-gallon blue lid bin will become your single stream recycling bin. Service will be weekly on the customer’s trash day moving forward after the conversion date. You can always request a larger recycling bin later if you do not upsize during the conversion dates.

    Single Stream Recycling
  • If you don’t currently have dual stream bins but live in a conversion to single stream area, your delivery date for a single stream may be delayed until the area’s conversion date. We want to streamline your service as much as possible and make sure you have only one set of recycling guidelines to follow. Until you're enrolled, you can utilize the public drop off at 333 West Ave to recycle. Call 970-244-1570 to schedule single stream can delivery.
