[ARCHIVED] North Avenue Sewer Replacement Project Update for December 16

North Ave Roadwork

The North Avenue Sewer Improvement Project will perform spot repairs to the sanitary sewer pipe, replace four manholes, and replace aging brick riser rings in 58 manholes in North Avenue between 1st Street and 30 Road. This work is being done now in anticipation of the Colorado Department of Transportation's April 2022 Overlay of North Avenue. The majority of the work will be done at night to minimize traffic impacts.

Although located within city limits, North Avenue is a state highway and is under the purview of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Infrastructure, such as sewer lines that are located within North Avenue, are the responsibility of the City.

For the weeks of December 13 & 20, the following work is scheduled to be completed:

  • Replacing a manhole at 20th Street & North Avenue. This work was completed the evening of December 14th.
  • Repairing existing sewer pipe segments and replacing one manhole near the intersection of 1st Street & North Ave.
  • Replacing one manhole near the intersection of 2nd Street & North Avenue.
  • Updating manhole covers to raise to road-level grade, including the repair and replacement of broken covers. Motorists should expect rolling daytime lane closures as crews complete this work.
