Grand Junction, CO – On Sunday, at 6:24 p.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department (GJFD) responded to a reported residential structure fire on the 220 block of Gigax Lane. The resident called 9-1-1 to report a fire on the second floor of the home.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the residence. Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack to locate and extinguish the fire, working swiftly to prevent further spread within the structure. Firefighters conducted a thorough search of the home, including the attic and basement, and confirmed no active fire remained.
In addition to fire suppression efforts, crews worked to salvage the resident’s belongings wherever possible. No injuries have been reported because of the incident.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
