UPDATE: Second Arrest Made in Assault and Kidnapping Case

On May 19, 2025, dispatchers at the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center received a report of a possible assault and kidnapping. Officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the 400 block of Larrys Meadow Drive, where they contacted an adult female who had fled to a neighbor’s residence and claimed someone was after her.

Through investigation, officers determined the female had been physically assaulted and held against her will during a dispute at a nearby residence.

On May 20, 2025, Jonah Larson (age 29) was arrested in connection to this incident and was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Robbery, and additional charges.

Further investigation by the Grand Junction Police Department identified an additional suspect, Brianna Ferns (age 29). On the afternoon of May 21, 2025, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office contacted Ferns at a residence in the 400 block of Larrys Meadow Drive. Ferns was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • 2nd Degree Kidnapping
  • Robbery
  • False Imprisonment

This investigation remains active and ongoing. There is no additional information at this time.
