Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a sex offense at Cabela’s located at 2424 US Hwy 6, on 5/9/2024, shortly before 3 p.m. Several women discovered a man taking pictures of them under a stall in the women’s restroom without their knowledge or consent. When confronted by the women, the suspect fled the store. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect in another business nearby and took him into custody. Duane Casey, age 26, was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Invasion of Privacy for Sexual Gratification
- Obstruction
The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident with no danger to the community. Investigation into this incident remains ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
