Grand Junction, CO – At approximately 3:53 a.m., the Grand Junction Fire Department (GJFD) responded to reports of a possible structure fire at the Wendy’s restaurant located at 750 ½ Horizon Drive. A caller from the Clarion Inn across the street reported seeing flames through one of the restaurant’s windows.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke filling the building and entered through the main door. Firefighters located a small fire in the kitchen area, quickly extinguished it, and then used ventilation fans to clear smoke from the building.
The building is believed to have been unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries have been reported.
The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with scene safety and traffic control. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
