[ARCHIVED] City Collaborates with Team Pain on Emerson Skate Park

The City of Grand Junction is beginning to plan for the potential renovation of Emerson Park to create a destination skate/wheel park. A virtual kick-off community meeting will occur on Tuesday, May 9 at 6 p.m. Meeting details 

Improvements at Emerson Park will be conducted in collaboration with Team Pain Skate Parks, the Atwell Group, and Clauson Rawley Associates.   

Team Pain Skate Parks is a national design-build firm with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. They specialize in custom skate structures, concrete skate park facilities, indoor facilities, and high-profile specialty structures. They have designed and constructed 26 concrete skate park facilities throughout Colorado and more than 350 skate structures and skate parks worldwide. 

The City of Grand Junction has two public skate parks: West Lake and Eagle Rim. West Lake offers 18,000 square feet with three large concrete bowls, a street skate area, rails, walls, and ramps. Eagle Rim skate park is a compact concrete park made up of a mix of transition and street built in 2000. Both parks are maintained by Grand Junction Parks and Recreation.
