City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

2022 Asphalt Overlay Project

  • Redlands Parkway between Hwy 340 Roundabout and the Colorado River Bridge
    • Shoulder work
    • Minimal traffic impacts
  • 21 1/2 Road between Hwy 6 & 50 and Storage Court
    • Asphalt milling and paving
    • Expect delays
  • 25 1/2 Road between Independent Avenue and Patterson Road
    • Asphalt milling and paving
    • Expect delays

City Street Maintenance Work

  • November 8: Riverside Parkway & the 29 Road Intersection
  • November 10: 1st Street & the Main Street Intersection
    • Expect delays after 9 am each day

Riverfront Trail Improvement Project

  • The River Front Trail will be closed between Bananas Fun Park and the Junior Service League Park/Redlands Pkwy
  • City crews are replacing the asphalt trail with concrete
  • A well-marked detour route will be in place utilizing the bike path alongside the Riverside Pkwy

City of Grand Junction Leaf Removal Program  

  • Please slowdown in areas where crews are working
  • Anticipated completion: early December (weather permitting)

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

North Avenue between 1st Street and I-70B, Resurfacing Project– CDOT

  • The asphalt overlay of North Avenue has begun
  • The paving operation is being done during the afternoons and evenings due to temperature concerns (2 p.m. until 2 a.m. daily except for Fridays and Saturdays)
  • One lane of traffic in each direction will always be open
  • Be aware of the 20-mph reduced speed limit and 10’ width restriction throughout the work zone 
  • Please be aware of workers in the "cone zone" and be respectful of their safety
  • Anticipated competition: mid-December (weather dependent)

23 Road Between H Road and I Road, Utility Construction – Ute Water

  • 23 Road is closed to through traffic between H Road and I Road
  • Access for residents will be maintained
  • A detour route will be in place
  • Anticipated completion: mid-October

South Camp Road Shoulder Improvement Project – Mesa County

  • Shoulder work along South Camp Road between Monument Road and Rimrock Road
  • South Camp Road may have Intermittent alternating one-lane traffic, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
  • Expect delays
  • Anticipated completion: mid-December
