[ARCHIVED] GJPD Respond to Call of Man Struck by Train

On 10/20/2022, at approximately 11:05am, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department received reports of an adult male struck by a train on the 2300 block of River Rd. The male had trespassed onto railroad property and tried to cross the tracks on his bicycle when he was struck by an oncoming train. The male died on scene. The Mesa County Coroner's Office will be responsible for releasing the identity of the deceased after proper notifications have been made. Investigation is ongoing.
