Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a robbery in progress at 755 North Avenue at approximately 4:20pm on September 1, 2022. The reporting party stated they were being robbed and that a male kept grabbing his hip like he had a gun.
When Officers arrived on scene, they learned the two business owners were in a civil dispute. One adult male was detained on scene. The other adult male was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
Robert Burford, age 32, was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Felony Menacing
- Possession of Weapon by a Previous Offender
- Criminal Possession of Two or More Financial Devices
- Obstructing a Peace Officer
- 3rd Degree Criminal Trespass
- Unrelated Warrant
Anthony Loveridge, age 28, was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Restraining Order Violation
- Possession of Weapon by a Previous Offender
- Accessory to Commit Felony Menacing
- Failure to Comply Misdemeanor Warrant
The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
