City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Fire Station 8 Fiber Project - D Road Between 29 Road and 30 Road

  • Intermittent lane closures starting Wednesday, September 7
  • Expect moderate delays
    Anticipated completion: mid-September

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

U.S. 6 & North Avenue Median & Resurfacing Project – CDOT

  • The current work zone is 7th St. to 29 ½ Rd.
  • Crews continue concrete curb and median work on US 6/North Ave. from 28 Rd. to 12th St. Boring and potholing will occur at 5th St., 7th St. and 23rd St. Light base installation will take place from 12th St. to 7th St.   
  • Work continues on storm sewer improvements  from 29 ¼ Rd. east to the driveway access at 2938 North Ave. in the west bound lanes. Traffic will be shifted  on the eastbound side of US 6 North Ave.
  • Motorists should expect minimal delays through the work zone. The posted speed limit through the work zone is reduced to
  • Speed limit is 20 mph during working hours 7 p.m.-7 a.m. in several locations.
  • One lane of travel in each direction on US 6 North Avenue will always be maintained. Through lanes will be the outside travel lanes on North Avenue while median construction is being performed. Some limited daytime work is possible. Drivers should anticipate some restrictions to left hand turns.
  • Crews will be returning to work on Tuesday night, Sept. 6 following the Labor Day holiday. Drivers are asked to slow down and watch for crews working in the "cone zone."
