GJPD Makes Arrest in Kidnapping, Domestic Violence Incident

Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department have made an arrest in the kidnapping and domestic violence incident that took place on the evening of July 8, 2022, in Grand Junction, CO. Read more about the incident here.

Justin Leech, age 33, of Grand Junction, CO has been arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Second degree kidnapping 
  • Third degree assault 
  • Child abuse
  • Obstruction of a telephone service 
  • Domestic Violence 
  • Vehicular eluding 
  • Reckless Driving 
  • Driving with a suspended license


On the morning of July 13, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department received credible information regarding Justin Leech’s whereabouts. When officers arrived at a residence in the 100 block of Anna Court, Leech was confirmed to be inside. After several verbal attempts to contact Leech, he exited the residence and was arrested without further incident.
