At 9:04 PM Thursday evening Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a report of fire in the wall of an apartment building on the 2100 block of College Place. When crews arrived Grand Junction Police Department was on scene helping to evacuate the building. Crews located the apartments where the fire was reported and opened the wall to extinguish the fire. Crews also searched the spaces above to determine if the fire had spread through the structure. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
GJFD responded with Truck 1, Truck 6, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Ambulance 2, Ambulance 3, Medic 1 and Battalion 1. GJPD also responded and assisted with scene safety.
