Enjoy the numerous activities available to the community through Grand Junction Parks & Recreation! The 2022 Summer Activity Guide arrived in community mailboxes recently. The guide includes excellent information on services, programs, special events, and much more. Parks & Recreation offers a wide variety of recreational programming for all ages and abilities including, yoga, summer camps, swim lessons, and adult and youth sports.
Grand Junction Parks & Recreation is excited to introduce Challenge Island Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Camps, Kids Triathlon Camp, and Kids Triathlon Races among many other great activities. Challenge Island STEAM Camp is a STEAM enrichment program that works with kids to help build their 21st-century skills by bringing out their creativity, encouraging teamwork, and promoting critical thinking. Kids Triathlon Camp focuses on learning the fundamentals of swimming, biking, and running for a triathlon. Kids Triathlon Races facilitate personal growth and character development while building self-esteem.
Readers can also learn about planned improvements to city parks, trails, and facilities. Guides were mailed to Grand Junction residents and can be viewed online at www.gjparksandrec.org or can be picked up from the Parks and Recreation office at 1340 Gunnison Avenue at Lincoln Park south of the Lincoln Park Moyer Pool.
