GJPD Investigating a Shooting #GVCopBeat

Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened in the evening hours of April 20, 2022.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the 300 Block of Fairview Avenue, after several people called 9-1-1 stating they heard multiple gunshots fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they secured the area, began searching for the subjects involved, and started interviewing witnesses. During the initial investigation, officers detained six individuals, who were brought to the Police Department for questioning and released shortly after. 

No injuries have been reported. At this time, officers believe this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to our community.  

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department are requesting that anyone who may have information pertaining to the incident call non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707.
