City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Waterline Replacement Project Phase 1

  1. Chipeta Avenue from 7th Street to 12th Street
  2. White Avenue from 9th Street to 12th Street
    •   Both streets will be closed to thru traffic
    •   Access for residents will be provided
    •   No on-street parking
    •   Anticipated Completion - October       

24 Road & G Road Bridge Replacement Project 

  • 24 Road will remain closed between F 1/2 Road and G Road until Tuesday, October 12
  • When 24 Road reopens, G Road will once again close between 24 Road and 24 1/2 Road
  • Detour route will be in place 


2021 Sewer Line Replacement Project - Unaweep Avenue

Monday, Oct. 11 thru Sunday, Oct. 31

  • Unaweep Ave. will be closed between Linden Avenue and David Street
  • 27 Road will be closed from Milo Dr. to Unaweep Ave.
  • Linden Avenue will be closed from Glenwood Drive to Unaweep Avenue
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Resident access will be provided

Wednesday, October 13 thru Sunday, October 31

  • Unaweep Avenue will be closed between 27 Road and Pinon Street
  • 27 Road will be closed from Milo Drive to Unaweep Avenue
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Resident access will be provided

2021 Street Asphalt Overlay Project

  • This week’s asphalt paving will take place at the following (2) locations (weather dependent)
  • Expect delays and possible detours:
    • (1)    27 Road from the 12th Street & Horizon Drive roundabout to the I-70 overpass 
    • (2)    Crossroads Blvd. from Horizon Drive to 27 Road

Monument Road Construction: Installation of Left Turn Lane

  • Expect alternating one lane traffic along Monument Road between S. Redlands Road and Glade Park Road during normal work hours
  • Delays can be expected
  • The paved recreational trail will be closed throughout the construction zone
  • Anticipated Completion: Late October

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions   

1st Street & Grand Avenue Improvement Project – CDOT

  • Expect intermittent lane closures, traffic pattern changes, and delays on 1st Street, I-70B, and Grand Avenue 
  • Expect possible side street closures with well-marked detour routes in place
  • Be aware of reduced speed limits throughout the construction zone
  • Access to local businesses will be provided
  • Alternate route advised  
  • Anticipated completion – May 2022 

E Road Reconstruction between 31 Road and 32 Road – Mesa County

  • Expect full Road Closures with a well-marked detour route at various locations
  • Be aware of the 15-mph reduced speed limit, along with increased law enforcement 
  • Resident access will be maintained
  • Alternate Route advised
  • Work hours: Monday thru Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Anticipated Completion - January 2022

Orchard Avenue Construction between Cannell Avenue and 10th Street - Colorado Mesa University

  • Orchard Avenue will reopen this week
  • Expect intermittent lane shifts
  • Minimal delays
