The City of Grand Junction invites the community to join them in celebrating the improvements made to Riverside Park on Thursday, October 7th. The ceremony will start at 4:30 p.m. followed by an open house from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. where the community can enjoy free ice cream, a bounce house, and games.
Riverside Park has a long history dating back to 1918 when the park was first named “Riverside Park.” Over the past 103 years, the park has changed tremendously, and the City of Grand Junction is excited to celebrate this newly renovated space with the community. These improvements would not have been possible without partners from The Colorado Health Foundation, One Riverfront, and a Community Development Block Grant. Improvements include renovations to roads and sidewalks around the park, the basketball court, the irrigation system, and the landscape.
