The City of Grand Junction will begin installation of a new waterline along G Road starting Wednesday, July 28. This waterline work is part of the larger G Road Bridge Replacement Project that is being paid for by 2019 Ballot Initiative 2A. In order for the bridge component of the project to begin, the waterline installation and other utility relocations that are currently underway need to be completed first.
Road Closures
- G Road between Canyon View Park's south entrance and Spanish Trail Drive will be closed to traffic. The closure timeframe for the waterline installation is anticipated to last two weeks.
- The south entrance to Canyon View Park will be closed temporarily only when the Contractor has to install the new waterline in front of the park entrance.
- The diagonal parking spaces along the north side of G Road will be closed for public use.
Detour Routes
- The suggested detour route will utilize Patterson Road between 24 Road and 24 1/2 Road. Please find a map detailing the closure and alternate route below.
