The City of Grand Junction is asking for community input regarding the future of firework shows at Lincoln Park. Residents are encouraged to take a short survey located at gjpr.org/fireworksurvey to help the city understand the general community opinion of how fireworks are currently conducted. The survey was launched in early July in the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation newsletter and was also shared on social media. The survey will be active until Monday, July 26th, and we look forward to receiving feedback from residents. A community meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Barn to collect additional input, and answer community questions.
Eight firework shows were planned for 2021, with five being put on by the Grand Junction Rockies, one by Colorado Mesa University, and one by JUCO. The only one the City of Grand Junction puts on is the 4th of July show in collaboration with the Grand Junction Rockies. The City is working to understand the general community opinion of firework shows at Lincoln Park. The survey results and community meeting will help the City and its partners make decisions for future years.
