City Service Updates for February 4, 2021

City Hall atrium

The City of Grand Junction remains committed to providing services to the community and continues to modify services as appropriate in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following changes to services will go into effect on February 4:

  • Municipal Court will resume holding regular in person court sessions on Tuesday and Thursday of each week with Wednesday court sessions on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month:
    • These court sessions will be only for individuals who have a set/scheduled court date, and security personnel will check individuals in at the Rood entrance of City Hall.
    • Court sessions on Tuesdays are held from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Court sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays are held from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Completion time of sessions depends on the size of docket (number of attendees).
    • In a continued effort to keep the community and employees safe, guests are limited or restricted in some cases. Adult cases are limited to just the defendant and minor defendants are allowed a parent or guardian to attend.
    • Masks must be worn at all times, in accordance with public health guidelines.
    • Municipal Court may be contacted for more information at (970) 244-1537. Online options are available in case attendance is not mandatory.
  • Outdoor Parks & Recreation facilities such as multipurpose fields, court facilities, park shelters, and softball/baseball fields are open. Contractors and large user groups are allowed to reserve these facilities for upcoming spring seasons and programs so long as the sport is approved by either the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) and/or the Mesa County Health Department.
  • Indoor Parks & Recreation programs that are held at City facilities have been canceled for the months of February and March.
  • Southwest Arbor Fest has been canceled.

The City will continue to work with Mesa County Public Health to monitor the situation. The health and safety of the public and staff remains a top priority. As a reminder, most City business can be completed virtually or over the phone. A full list of services is available on our website.
