In response to growing misuse of the park after hours, the City of Grand Junction is taking steps to enhance public safety and protect park resources by installing gates at the west and east entrances to Canyon View Park. Beginning September 2, 2025, the new gates will be locked each evening at park closing and reopened each morning at 5 a.m.
Canyon View Park Hours:
- Summer hours (March 2–Oct. 31): 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Winter hours (Nov. 1–March 1): 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Note: Canyon View Park, as a designated sports park, is open one hour later than standard park hours. Standard park hours are 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in summer and 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. in winter.
Canyon View Park will continue to operate as usual during posted hours, with all amenities open to the public. These safety measures will help ensure the park remains a safe, active, and inviting space for families, athletes, and visitors.
