The City of Grand Junction and the Skateboard Alliance will host the first Wild West Skate Fest. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, skateboarders, families, local businesses, and community members will come together to celebrate western Colorado’s skateboarding culture.
The event will include friendly competitions in beginner, intermediate, and amateur/professional skill levels. Prizes will be awarded in all divisions. Other activities will include music, food trucks, live mural artwork by a visiting artist, and booths from community businesses.
Pre-registration is open and will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 11. On-site registration will be available from 11 a.m. to noon on the day of the event, with the first leg of the competition beginning at noon.
The Wild West Skate Fest is intended to provide a welcoming space for skateboarders of all ages and abilities, as well as those who simply wish to enjoy the festivities. Organizers note that skateboarding is both a sport and a community, and the event aims to highlight that connection.
