A ribbon cutting celebration for the opening of the new tennis courts will be hosted on Thursday, March 28 at 3 p.m. at Canyon View Park. The four, new post-tension tennis courts make up a total of 16 courts at the tennis complex on the east side of Canyon View Park at 728 24 Road. While the new courts opened for play in February, this ribbon cutting ceremony marks the official completion of the complex
Improving the tennis complex is a part of the larger tennis and pickleball expansion project funded largely by the city with contributions from both the tennis and pickleball communities. The completion of this portion of the project with 16 tennis courts, also includes the lighting of the existing 12 courts with LED lights. The new tennis courts replace those at Lincoln Park that have now been converted to 12 pickleball courts. The tennis courts are also now lit with new dark sky LED lights which extend playing time by one hour past closing time, which increases service to a large and growing community of tennis enthusiasts. Landscaping around the courts will be completed this spring.
