The City of Grand Junction Launches Next Phase of Dual Stream Recycling Program

The City of Grand Junction will begin Phase 3 of the Dual Stream Curbside Recycling Program the week of February 20, 2024, for the following areas of the city:

  • February 20 – March 1: Redlands area with a Monday trash collection day. Recycling collection will begin on March 11.
  • March 4 – 15: North of Patterson between 25 and 26 ½ Rd. area with a Wednesday trash collection day. Recycling collection will begin on March 20.
  • March 18 – 29: North of Patterson east of 12th St. with a Monday trash collection day. Recycling collection will begin on April 1.

The city’s Dual Stream Recycling Program automates recycling pickup and offers residents recycling and trash pickup on the same day. Residents participating in the Dual Stream Program may also be able to lower costs by reducing the amount of trash they dispose and increasing the amount of material being recycled. Trash and recycling will be collected for one price depending on the size of the trash can: Option #1 (48 gallon) is $12.50 a month, Option #2 (64 gallon) is $17.50 a month, and Option #3 (96 gallon) is $28 a month. 

The city will host three events for customers to learn more about the recycling program that is included with regular trash collection services:

  1. Thursday, February 8, 4 – 6 p.m. Tiara Rado Clubhouse
  2. Saturday, February 10, 10 – noon Lincoln Park Barn
  3. Thursday, February 15, 4 – 6 p.m. Lincoln Park Barn
