The City will hold the final listening session on the Unhoused Needs Assessment in person on Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Fire Training room at 625 Ute Ave. from 7:30 – 9 a.m. In June 2023, the City of Grand Junction began conducting an Unhoused Needs Assessment to understand the current and projected needs among people experiencing houselessness. Two virtual listening sessions were held in October and focus groups are planned for Nov. 13-15. A full report of survey results will be presented at the Council Workshop on Monday, November 13, and the city continues to gather input online using EngageGJ.org. Community input from all of these meetings and from the EngageGJ.org project page will be used to further develop strategies to effectively meet current and future needs, fill key gaps, and overcome barriers within the community’s housing stock and services for people experiencing houselessness.
