Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department have made an arrest in the robbery incident which took place at the Coloramo Federal Credit Union on the afternoon of 10/03/23. Read more here about the initial incident.
Jeffery Downing, age 36, of Grand Junction, CO, has been arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
Through the course of the investigation, Grand Junction Police detectives and Intelligence Unit were able to identify the suspects in this incident. Officers contacted Downing on 10/05/23, at approximately 4:55 p.m. on the 2800 block of North Avenue and took him into custody without incident. The second suspect has been identified and not located at this time. Officers are seeking information about the whereabouts of Jayson Hernando Ortiz, age 42. Do not approach this individual.
