The city’s 19th annual Dog Days celebration will be held at Lincoln Park Pool on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Small dogs, 25 pounds or less can swim from 10 – 11 a.m. and all dogs regardless of size will be allowed to swim from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The pool will be open for “canine only” swimming. The cost is $8 per dog and the event is free for human companions.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Roice-Hurst Humane Society and the Billy Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Roice-Hurst Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter and adoption center that provides individualized enrichment, veterinary care, and adoption services for dogs and cats, as well as a variety of innovative support services for pet owners. The Billy Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarship opportunities to qualifying lifeguards to further their higher education, which in turn supports the Grand Junction community.

Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of recreational programming for all ages and abilities as described in the seasonal activity guide.
