Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a suspicious incident in the area of 24 Rd and HWY 6 and 50, at approximately 10:50 AM, on 08/24/23. The reporting party stated a female handed her a message in the women’s bathroom asking for help. The female stated she was being held against her will by a male on the run, who was waiting for the female to exit the bathroom. The female exited the store with the male and left the area in a truck. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle and it failed to yield. Officers successfully stopped the vehicle in the area 24 ¼ Rd and HWY 6 and 50, where three males and one female were detained pending investigation. The Colorado State Patrol was on scene to assist.
The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. We are in the early stages of this investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
