City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Sewer Replacement Project

• Unaweep Ave. is closed for paving at 27 3/8 Rd. until Thursday, August 3
• A well-marked detour route is in place
• Resident access will always be provided
• Roadway is planned to reopen on Friday, August 4, 2023

24 Road and G Road – Traffic Roundabout Project

• Eastbound lanes of G Rd. will be closed between 24 Rd. and 24 ½ Rd
• Be aware of the posted 15 mph speed limit around the 24 Rd. and G Rd. temporary roundabout 
• Continue to see lane shifts on 24 Rd. from I-70 to Leland Ave.
• Moderate traffic delays can be expected
• Access to Canyon View Park, Golden Gate Petroleum & Community Hospital will always be maintained

Waterline Replacement Project - Phase 2

• 20th and 21st St. between Elm Ave. and Orchard Ave. is closed to thru traffic
• Resident access will be maintained
• Anticipated completion – October 2023 

Tree Maintenance Project – City Forestry

Expect lane shifts at the following locations:

• Mon. 7/31 – 800 block of Ute Ave., 9 a.m. set up
• Wed. 8/2 – 1800 block of Grand Ave., 7 a.m. set up
• Thur. 8/3 – 500 block of Grand Ave., 7 a.m. set up 

 30 Rd. Sidewalk Replacement Project 

• South bound 30 Rd. lane shifts, between E Rd. and D Rd. 
• Expect traffic delays, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mon.- Fri.         

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Fiber Optic Construction– Highline Internet Service Provider

• Eastbound F ½ Rd. from 30 1/2 Rd. to 31 Rd.
• Eastbound Patterson Rd. from 29 ½ Rd. to 30 Rd.
• Expect lane shifts and delays

 S. Broadway between 23 Rd. & Easter Hill Dr.– Private Development               

• Utility work along with new curb, gutter & sidewalk construction will take place throughout the summer
• Expect intermittent road closures with well-marked detours
• Resident access will be provided        

City of Fruita Chip Seal Program

The following streets are scheduled to be chip sealed this week (weather dependent)

Mon. 7/31 through Wed. 8/2:

1. S. Pine St. south of Frontage Rd. 
2. River Rock Ct. south of S. Pine St.
3. River Rock Rd. from S. Pine to Red Sky Rd.
4. Red Sky Rd. from Adobe View to Kyenta
5. Adobe View from Red Sky Rd. to Kyenta
6. Kayenta south of 894 Kayenta
7. 19 Rd. south of Frontage Rd.
8. Laura Ct. north west of Fowler Dr.
9. Red Cliffs Dr. from Hwy 340 to Honeysuckle

Delays can be expected and please no on street parking       

W. Scenic Dr. Drainage Improvement Project (on the Redlands north of Hwy 340)– Mesa County    

• Work hours will be Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Expect alternating single lane traffic throughout the duration of project, with up to 10 min. delays 
• Resident access will be maintained
• Anticipated completion – Sept.

I-70B and CO 141B Resurfacing Project – CDOT

• Work hours: Sun. nights through Friday mornings between 6:30 pm and 6:30 am
• Expect single lane closures and traffic delays
• I-70B from 24 Rd. west to the I-70 Interchange
• CO 141 (32 Rd.) from I-70B south to the Colorado River bridge
