At 5:56 PM on June 21st, Grand Junction Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a fire on the 2300 block of H Road. When crews arrived on scene they found a garage fully engulfed in flames with one dog that had been rescued by bystanders. No one else was home at the time and firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond the garage. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
Mesa County Sheriff's Office responded to assist with traffic control and scene safety. Xcel Energy responded to assist with securing utilities.
