Grand Junction, CO - On October 31, 2025, at approximately 2:25 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to a felony menacing in the 2200 block of Hall Avenue.

The reporting party told 911 dispatchers with the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center that a male suspect had threatened to shoot him and his daughter before leaving the scene in his vehicle. Officers located the suspect’s vehicle and, shortly thereafter, conducted a high-risk stop, taking the suspect into custody without further incident.

During the course of investigation, officers identified the suspect as 21-year-old Christian Brunswick, who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and had been driving with a female with whom he had been involved in a relationship. A verbal dispute occurred inside the vehicle, during which Brunswick prevented the female from exiting the vehicle. The suspect, who was in possession of a firearm, drove erratically while threatening to kill the female and her family.

The female was eventually able to leave the vehicle safely. Brunswick then struck a nearby fence and pole before leaving the area. Officers later stopped Brunswick, recovered two firearms from the vehicle, and arrested him.

Brunswick was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following charges:

  • 2nd Degree Kidnapping
  • Menacing
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Harassment
  • Criminal Mischief
  • DUI
  • Prohibited Use of a Weapon
  • Domestic Violence

This remains an active investigation. No further information is available at this time.
