GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., July 1, 2025 – In celebration of Independence Day, the City of Grand Junction is allowing the use of propane grills in Lincoln Park on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
This special one-day exception supports residents and visitors who want to gather, celebrate, and enjoy meals together in Lincoln Park for the holiday. Grilling is permitted under the following conditions to help ensure safety and a positive experience for everyone:
- Only propane grills are allowed, and they must be attended at all times while in use.
- Grilling must occur within Lincoln Park and only during park hours (5 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
- Users are responsible for cleaning up all waste, including food scraps, grease, and ash.
- A fire extinguisher is recommended for safety.
- All other park rules, including those related to noise, alcohol, and trash, remain in effect.
- City staff or law enforcement may revoke grilling privileges if activities interfere with others’ use or enjoyment of the park.
This temporary allowance is made under Administrative Regulation consistent with City Code and the 2024 Park Rules.
