April 9 Update: City staff have purchased a boiler unit to replace the failed boiler at the Orchard Mesa Pool. This unit will have lead time in shipping and installation. The pool is expected to reopen by the end of May.
March 31 update: The solar heating unit is unable to keep temperatures warm enough for swimmer use. The pool will remain closed while staff identify the procurement of a new boiler.
The Orchard Mesa Pool experienced colder-than-normal water temperatures due to a failed boiler. Despite several repair attempts over the past few days, the boiler has been deemed unrepairable. The City is actively working to procure and install a new boiler as quickly as possible.
