GJPD and GJFD Respond to Two Separate Vehicle vs Pedestrian Crashes

First Responders with the Grand Junction Police Department and Grand Junction Fire Department responded to two separate crashes involving pedestrians on 02/03/24.

Grand Junction Police officers responded to a motorcycle vs pedestrian crash in the 700 block of Horizon Drive on 02/03/24, at approximately 11:50 a.m. An adult female and two juveniles were struck by a motorcycle on the roadway. Emergency personnel with the Grand Junction Fire Department transported the adult female to the hospital with serious bodily injuries, and the two juveniles with minor injuries. The juveniles were released to a parent at the hospital after being medically evaluated by hospital staff. 

A juvenile riding an electric toy was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of N 1st Street and Patterson Road on 02/03/24, at approximately 3:15 p.m. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with minor injuries by the Grand Junction Fire Department.  

The Grand Junction Police Department would like to remind pedestrians to use crosswalks and designated walkways when crossing roadways, and drivers to look out for pedestrians and cyclists. Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department are in the early stages of investigating both crashes and there is no further information available at this time.
