Beginner SUP Surf Group Lesson

Ready to catch the waves at the Las Colonias River Park? This introductory class prepares you for river wave stand-up paddleboard surfing with a review of personal preparation, board, and paddle design details, paddle environment, and safety. Learn river wave surfing strategies and techniques, how to catch waves, pop-up, and dial in your stance and weight distribution. Participants will need to dress appropriately for water and air temps (neoprene or dry suit recommended). Meet at the Mariposa shelter at Las Colonias near the Butterfly Pond. Class is dependent on river flow.
