The Museum of Western Colorado preserves Western Colorado history through exhibits and displays, programs, trips and tours, extensive educational programming, and a comprehensive research library. The Museums that are part of the MWC include: The Museum of the West, Smith Observation Tower, & Lloyd Files Research Library at 4th and Ute - open May - September Monday through Saturday 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 12 to 4 pm, and October - April Tuesday through Saturday 10 am to 3 pm and Sunday 12 to 4 pm; Cross Orchards Historical Site at 3073 F Road - open mid-April - October Tuesday through Saturday 9 am to 4 pm; Dinosaur Journey Museum at 550 Jurassic Court (I-70 Exit 19) in Fruita, CO - open daily May - September 9 am to 5 pm and October - April Monday through Saturday 10 am to 4 pm; Riggs Hill and Rabbit Valley archeology sites.
