Suzie was awarded a sabbatical in 2006 to develop a course in sketchbooks for the college. Since then her sketchbook artwork has been published in 1,000 Artist Journal Pages: Personal Pages and Inspirations by Dawn DeVries Sokol; featured sketchbook artist on www.moleskinerie.com and her personal sketchblog has been recognized and is listed as a resource in the Travel Sketches section on About.com's Drawing/Sketching page. In addition, her personal artwork has been on exhibited nationally in Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Texas, Wyoming and all over Colorado.

W.R. Rice is a contemporary artist living near the old neighborhoods downtown. Rice attended UC Berkeley, Northern Illinois University and UNM Albuquerque where he received his BA in Art Studio. Rice has been active as an Artist-in-Residence with the public schools in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona, as well as with the National Park Service and US Forest Service.He has worked in freelance design and the fine arts in Taos, Boulder, Santa Fe, and Durango among other historic western cities. Rice's work is colorful, contemporary and makes full use of his imagination in print and paint. He primarily works with oil and acrylic mediums as well as monotypes and prints in water and oil based media. Rice also self-publishes a series of "natural history" note cards with original colored pencil "Desert Drawings" images. Rice's work is held in private, corporate, and municipal art collections across the United States.
